Anyone else excited for Mario Kart 3DS?

No release date yet. But listen to what the game’s Wikidpedia profile has to say:

Shigeru Miyamoto stated that the new sense of depth makes it clear where all the objects are. Gamespot, IGN and Computer and Video Games have commented on the game’s good use of 3D in the game, stating that it helps with judging distance, “heightening that sense of falling”, and giving more depth to viewing items and their effects, such as the “ink blot”. All three sites also praised the games frame rate and graphics in general, especially the fact that it ran at 60 frames per second. A new feature is how characters interact with each other while driving. Characters not only turn their heads when another racer is nearby, but make faces as well, such as “glaring”. The game was the number one most wanted 3DS game by IGN, and in a poll conducted by Official Nintendo Magazine.

You know… This is really the first mario kart I’m not sure about getting… The ds one really doesnt seem to lack much, yet I rarely ever play it. Sad since I’ve been a fan since the snes days.

Of course I’m excited. This may be the only reason for me to get a 3DS. OK maybe not, if they come out with some other neat games.

Yeah, I’m excited about this game. Pity we don’t know anything about many of the tracks, characters, items, music or various other features though.

Not at the moment, but when I see it in person I might change my mind.

I’ve never played a Mario Kart game I didn’t like. Count me in!

Absolutely! I’d call Mario Kart DS the best of the series so far, and I can’t wait to get this one! Heck, I can’t wait to just SEE it in action in 3D!

I just hope it isn’t like Mario Kart Wii. That was such a disappointing game. The box-art says it all: barely any content and frustrating motion controls.

Sounds very interesting. I really enjoy the Mario Kart games, so I’ll be looking forward to trying this one out. Heck, I’m just excited to try ANY 3DS game!

The only Mario Kart game I’ve truly enjoyed was on the 64. Ever since, I’ve felt the game turned into an item fest with broken balance were it’s just frustrating to play. As long as the game is fun with focus on driving and not on items, then I’d be glad to play this.

Agree with Artefacto…
That focus on ítems and the “snaking” trick on DS ruined the series to me
